Are you right with God?

What Does It Take?

For those of you who believe that God exists, the question is raised, "What does it take to be right with God?" First, how does a person become severed from God? Sin causes God's face to be hidden from us (Isaiah 59:1, 2). So, what can we do to be right with God once sin is in our lives? Can good works outweigh our sin?

The short answer to these questions is that you have to be perfect to be in right standing with God! PERFECT!! Someone exclaims, "Then there is no way for me to ever be right with God!" God's word declares that a person is cursed who does not abide by all the law of God (Gal.3:10).

So, that's right, there is no way for you to save yourself, but there is a way for you to be saved. If God demands perfection and we all admit that we have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, then take a look at Jesus. He was tempted in all points as we are, yet without sin. He was and is perfect. He never sinned. He was and is by His perfect life what God demands that we all be. He came to conquer where we all were defeated. He won on the battlefield where we were all slain. He's beaten sin and beaten the grave.

Now, here's the good news. God has a way to transfer the perfection of Jesus to you. God will deliver the righteous perfection of Jesus to your soul if you put your trust in Jesus as God's Son. In short, Jesus earned our salvation and gives it to those who believe in Him as a free gift. We need that righteous perfection more than the breath we are drawing. A day has been appointed by God when we will stand before Him in the judgment and we will be required to account for any sin in our lives. The standard which must be met will be righteous perfection. Are you ready to face God and meet that demand at this minute?

We either trust ourselves (people who have failed to measure up) or Jesus (who met every demand of God). We failed to measure up to God's demand, but as we view the life of Jesus we can see one who measured up to every demand of God. How beautiful and how glorious is Jesus! Hence, we must put our trust in Jesus-the Son of God who became flesh and who lived up to God's demand for us. Let Him stand good for your salvation-for He is the only one who can.

We invite you to read the enclosed gospel presentation entitled, It's Too Big For Me. It is our prayer that this will help you see how Jesus' righteousness can become your righteousness as a free gift from God.
